Coaching
Associational Missionary is certified as a congregational coach and is eager to provide those services. Coaching
views the person being coached as the expert in his/her personal and/or professional life. The coach is responsible
to come along side of the client to help him/her achieve their objectives. The coach promotes self-discovery and
encourages the client to develop solutions and strategies to help achieve his/her goal.
Consulting
Associational Missionary is certified as a Church Consultant and is available to help churches with a broad
spectrum of consultation options. Dr. Gouge offers services that include comprehensive consultation, vision
facilitation, strategic planning, or financial and stewardship recommendations.
Retreats
The Associational staff is available to lead in-town or out-of-town retreats such as: Deacon retreats, staff retreats,
program planning retreats, prayer retreats and spiritual growth weekends. In addition Dr. and Mrs. Gouge are
eager to facilitate family enrichment events.
Pastor Search Committees
Upon request, the Associational Missionary helps pastor search committees. This service includes training the
Nominating Committee, or whoever is responsible to secure the Pastor Search Team, in how to go about choosing
the Pastor Search Team. This is vital for the way we choose the Team. This may determine the success or failure
of the process. Once elected the Associational Missionary can meet with the Pastor Search Team to help train
them in complex responsibility the church has elected them to do. This feature of the ministry helps the Team
avoid many common obstacles that they face.
Interim and Transitional Pastors
A list of potential candidates are available at the Associational office to help guide a church through the transitional
period between pastors.
Demographics and Surveys
The Associational Missionary will make available demographic studies and surveys to any of our member
churches. It is important to know who lives on your church field so strategies can be developed to reach those
individuals for the cause of Jesus Christ. In most cases these studies are provided without costs to our member
churches.
Interfaith Evangelism
the Associational Missionary is certified through the north American Mission Board as a certified Interfaith
Evangelism Specialist. Dr. Gouge is prepared to lead studies in Mormonism, Jehovah Witnesses, the Occult,
Judaism, Islam and several other cults and religions. Conferences can be done on Wednesday nights, at retreat
settings or any other time. Presentations can be as short as 30 minutes or as long as a multi-day retreat.
Evangelism
Associational staff members are available to help churches learning how to share their faith with others. Such
topics, "How to use one verse Evangelism", or"Kid's Energy-E Cube", or several other creative ways to witness to
others can be presented to your church.
Conflict
The church is called to respond to conflict in a way that is remarkably different from the way the world deals with
conflict(Matthew 5:9; Luke 6 27-36; Galatians 5:19-26) the Associational Missionary is willing to work with any
congregation to help them manage conflict.
Media resources
The purpose of the media library is to assist the local church in training as well as equipping their members to
grow in Christ by providing a variety of resources available for our churches and their members to use.
